How to Keep Your Kid Busy During Their Summer Vacation

It’s not an easy job to keep kids busy and entertained during their long summer vacations. Especially when your kid is super active and full of energy like my girl. She is a very energetic kid, she gets bored very quickly. So I have to make sure she didn’t get bored and keep her busy in some activities.

For her, summer vacation is the most wonderful and adventurous time of the year. But for me it might be changing my schedule and racking my brain for activities to keep her busy for the day. We love, creativity, art, innovation, technology and fun.

It’s a time to bond with your child and maybe let your own inner child come out to play. But it can also be hard and stressful time. It’s best if you do a little bit of advance planning for summer vacation. It’s even better if you prepare yourself with plan of activities to keep your little bundle of joy busy and entertained.

Don’t forget to ask your kids about their interest when you do planning for their summer vacation. Because it’s them you have to entertain and keep busy. Here are some activities I am planning for my girl. It’s gonna be super duper fun. She is very excited about her vacation, so am I. But frankly speaking, it’s really hard for me keep her engage and amuse. Believe me. But as a mother, I always want to do those activities which safe for her and she enjoy her time.

Hand Painting

Painting is always a fun and dipped in colors, funny faces. You can make some amazing painting collections.

Activities Books

You can buy some activities book for your kids. You can play with them, just like I do. I bought some activity books for Yashi. They will love to have you as their partner in their activities.

Drawing Books

You can purchase drawing books for your kids which may be blank, with dotted lines, with some pictures etc. So they can color them with their own choice of colors and imaginations.

Role Play Activity

Yashi love to play different – different roles like sometimes she copied animated characters like Chota Bheem, Motu Patlu etc. Some characters from movies. But from all of them, she loves to play her teacher’s role and sometimes even me.

Play Indoor Games

I am sure you know plenty of indoor games which you play in your childhood days. Let re-live them with your kids. In summers, it’s not possible to go out every day to play, that’s why I add some indoor games in Yashi Summer Vacation Planner like

Love to play in the park so I and don't forget the times we spend in nature are the some of the moments we feel most alive. So…I always try to do something adventurous. Life is either a great adventure or nothing.What are we doing today. We playing Treasure 🏆Game.. I hide a box of treasure in the park.. And now it's Yashi's turn to find out the box and her treasure😜.. Sounds like fun naa😄…. The most important thing is to enjoy your life – to be happy – to be fun it’s all that matters to me. And of course It's not a easy task to find out something that hide by a mother.😜😜. Yashi try at least for half an hour and then finally she found out her Treasure 🗃..😀😀😀😀. That's one thing I always told her… Try, try and try… And you will achieve your goal…🏆 Thankfully she always keep it in mind… This is fun.. Sometimes you should try this.. Join any Activity Classes

This summer vacation, I am planning for Yashi to join dance classes because she loves dancing. It keeps her busy, at least one to one and a half hour a day and improves her dancing skills. You can also enroll your kid for any activity classes according to your kid’s interest. Like singing, painting, and swimming. etc

Tea Party

This is my personal favorite activity which I play with my girl mostly. We just have to sit and do as Yashi say. It’s really nice to spend some time with your kid. We drink lots of water (that’s tea for Yashi) lol. We eat some snacks at Yashi tea party.

Fun Reading

Now Yashi is in 2nd Standard, She loves to read on her own. So I bought some characters storybooks like Peter Pan, Pinocchio, The Princess and the pea, Bear can’t sleep. These are some of them. Remember whenever you buy a storybook for kids, it should have lots of images. Because images help them to relate with stories. And they enjoy their story time. That’s why I always buy a character storybook for Yashi.

No-Fire Cooking

Yashi loves to make her own sandwiches, decorate cookies, cakes with me. I also enjoy her company because she asks a lot of questions and talks about her friends, school time and teachers. Which entertain me and helps me to know more about her friends and teachers.

Make Key Holder

A few days back Yashi and I made a beautiful key holder for our home. It was totally her idea. We used pompom, some painting colors, glitter paper, wooden beads, ribbon and cotton buds. We used our personal photos because I wanted some personal touch.

Watch Kids Movies

We created a list of movies that are full of entertainment. We sit on the bean bags with popcorn, juices and lights off to get the feelings of Cinema Hall.

Activities Kit

I personally feel that activities kits are far better than watch activities on YouTube or any other application. So I bought some activity kit for Yashi to keep her engage.

Nowadays pollution is a headline in every newspaper. So I want her to know how important plants for our environment. So we are planning to buy some plants and seeds.

When we get bored, we love to do something creative…It's a ice cream stick tree…. Idea popped up in Yashi's mind.. Executed by both of us 😄😄 momma and daughter…. It's amazing isn't it 😄😄 If you wanna try.. 😀 . . Here is list of things that you need to get: ☑️ Ice cream sticks ☑️ Paint ☑️ Painting brush, scissor ☑️ Colour paper for leaves and bird ☑️ Glue and a paper sheet How you gonna make it.. Talk with them about your childhood

As a talkative kid, Yashi loves to hear our childhood stories. Whenever we go to our hometown, she loves to hear our stories from her grandparents. Now this summer, I will share my version of my childhood memories with Yashi.

These are few activities I am gonna do with my little monkey. I hope this article will help you and your kid to spend some precious time together.
